For my portfolio site project, I will create a site for potential clients and fellow designers to view my work, learn about my services, and contact me. The main focus will be on presenting the work I have done in the past, and what I can offer new clients. This site will be simple in approach but include some interactive elements. The chosen theme for the site is a kind of filing cabinet where the main categories to the site's content will be presented as drawers in the cabinet. When users click on a certain main nav link, the cabinet will open to that page's subnavigation.
Each page will have a clean, grid dominant layout and should work to hilight the images of my work. Any descriptions or other text on the portfolio pages should only serve as captions and not inhibit the focus on the images. Animation and intereactive elements will be simple and always provide the user with logical organization and markers for where they are in the site. On every page there will be a footer with contact link and home page return.
The typography should be clean and modern and reflect the OrrandDesigns brand. Colors will be tones of grey and black and should not interfere with the work presented. Lightbox format will be used for displaying work and include links to other work in the given category.
